QINGDAO, March 30, 2024 —As the “Time Travel” Flying Theater project completed, the much-anticipated Superwings FantasyLand has officially started the operation at Qingdao World Expo Park. The park welcomed young adventurers with a star-studded event featuring fan-favourite characters Jett, Dizzy, and more during the “Jett GO Carnival.”
The grand opening ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Mr. Wang Hualong, President of Shandong Culture and Tourism Group Co., Ltd., Mr. Hu Wenguo, Vice Head of Lichang District People’s Government, Mr. Wang Qilin, Director of the Market Allocation and Investment Promotion Division at Qingdao Culture and Tourism Bureau, and Mr. Li Bo, Vice President of Shandong Rio Tech Co., Ltd. and other leaders.
The collaborative venture among Rio-Tech, Qingdao Culture Development Investment Fund and Qingdao Shiyuan Development, Superwings FantasyLand, marks China’s first standalone cultural and tourism project featuring the beloved Superwings IP. The landmark project is also a joint effort by animation powerhouse Alpha Entertainment and tech innovator Rio Tech, signifying the first landing project in offline Location-Based Entertainment.
Spanning seven immersive areas—Super Wings Plaza, Time Travel, Taking Off with Astra, RIO Explorer, Time Corridor, Home of Super Wings, and Interactive Commerce—Superwings FantasyLand promises an unforgettable journey for the whole family.
Brand New Time Travel: A Sailing for Thrilling Adventure
Superwings FantasyLand has fully upgraded with the full operation of its latest attraction, the “Time Travel” Flying Theater, which is poised to become a landmark in family entertainment in China. This state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind in the nation, offering a fantastic journey through the realms of time and space for children and adults alike.
Embark on a flight with Super Wings and experience a joyous adventure that transcends the boundaries of imagination. The “Time Travel” Flying Theater employs cutting-edge technology, including multi-degrees of freedom (DOF) motion seats, spherical projection, and advanced simulation techniques, to deliver an immersive experience that mimics the sensation of flight. Upgraded RIO Explorer: A Leap into Immersive Entertainment
The 4D immersive interactive theatre of RIO Explorer, which has already received a lot of positive feedback during its trial operation, is now set for further enhancements, bringing more exciting interactions and richer 4D immersive special effects experience for visitors.
The 4D immersive interactive theatre integrates real-time interaction + 4D motions and special effects + naked eye 3D visual effects. Utilizing Rio Tech’s self-developed interactive system and Virtual Avatar technology, as well as the DCI-certified LED cinema screen system, it allows every rider to engage in live conversations with Captain Penguin RIO.
The fusion of diverse 4D motions, environmental special effects, and 3D visuals culminates in an immersive and participatory adventure, inviting tourists to join Captain RIO on a thrilling global adventure!
